Helping out feral cats.

The following is a courtesy listing in order to help out those that take action and help out animals. Melanie takes care of feral cats cares for them. Her friend Angela sends the following message:

Hi MDB, my friend has trapped, sterilized, vaccinated and de-wormed feral cats within a colony. She still has more to go, but she’s also looking for a heated barn or patient owners for the cats. Would you be able to post on the Montreal Dog Blog, a request for heated barns or patient cat owners for feral cats? If anyone is interested, they can call Melanie at: 514-606-4700. Here’s a picture of one of the cats.

The overpopulation of feral cats in our city seems to be out of control. Yet there are those that have the initiative to help out and aid the cats that are homeless due to the lack of interest of certain humans. It is easy for so many people to say; “cats belong outside, it’s natural.” They tend to ignore that there are an estimated 1.5 million stray cats in Quebec. Does this seem natural? We can blame Lack of common sense or education. But we have to stop blaming and start doing something about it. If you have any concerns or questions about cats in your neighborhood, you can seek guidance and suggestions from Montreal Dog Blogger Susan from ” PetitsPawz”. She does an awesome job at taking control of the colony of cats that she cares for. To read more about her and PetitsPawz you can click here. And if there is any way you can help Melanie, please contact her at the given phone number.
