Training Tip: When Teaching A New Behavior

Something to keep in mind when we teach our dog a new behavior, such as sit, stay, come or any other behavior:

It isn’t the dog’s responsibility to obey the cue to the behavior, but rather it is our responsibility to reward the dog for performing the behavior. Remember, the more a dog is reinforced for a behavior, the more likely it is that the dog will perform the behavior in the future!
