Laval University has ended the use of live piglets in its training of pediatrics residents

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine—a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit of 12,000 doctors—received confirmation yesterday that Université Laval has ended the use of live animals in its pediatrics residency program. With that decision, there are now no known pediatrics residency programs in Canada or the United States that use animals; all such programs exclusively use human-relevant training methods.
